Like many other dog tracks, Monmore Green Stadium was built in the late 1920s, and like many other dog tracks, there was also a speedway track.
F1 stock cars were introduced by maverick promoter Mike Parker in 1974, but ran for only one season.
The stadium still hosts greyhounds and speedway, but lack of pit space makes stock cars unviable.
