Around 50 cars turned up. The meeting sounds like a disaster. The cinder track laid in the park soon sank into the grass, racing conditions were difficult, and a lot of the 12,000+ crowd left before the end. The promoters were later charged with an offence under the Sunday Observance Act for charging admission for entertainment on a Sunday.
