Full name John Brian Naylor. A former Merchant Navy radio officer who won awards for gallantry during the war. A motor dealer by trade, he was an established racing driver, and a member of the British Racing Drivers Club. He competed in 8 F1 Grand Prix between 1957 and 1961, and became the first European driver to compete in NASCAR when he raced in the 1961 Daytona 500. He finished 42nd.
