The car was built/owned by Derek Ellis of CS Ellis Group Ltd, but his wife did not want him to race it. It had a Rolls Royce engine but later Derek fitted it with a Jag. Derek became friends with Roger Yarrow, and the CS Ellis Group sponsored Will Yarrow for over 30 years.
