Responsible for laying the track at Staines. Refused a booking for the 1955 World Final because promoter Digger Pugh was not impressed with Jimmy’s involvement with rival track Staines. Jimmy bought the car of 116 Bert Steddy, and entered the WF by posing as Bert. That's one version of the story, the other is that Bert Steddy was in fact Jimmy MacLean all along!
